Christoph Both-Asmus (b. 1984, Germany) is the artist and director of The Tree Walker film. Both-Asmus is currently living and working in Berlin (DE), Shizuoka (JP) and Amsterdam (NL). In 2010 he completed his MFA at the Sandberg Institute for Fine Arts Amsterdam (NL). Both-Asmus' interdisciplinary work mainly focuses on performative film, video and sculpture. He exhibited amongst the greatest art shows around Europe, including Art Pie Amsterdam, Istanbul Art Fair and Re Rotterdam. In recent years Christoph Both-Asmus' work has been exhibited together with fellow Documenta artist David de Medalla and Venice Biennale artist Pedro Calapez in Berlin. After being funded by the Mondriaan Fund Amsterdam in 2011 and 2012 he has been working on his film The Tree Walker.
Johan Henning (b. 1985, Sweden) He has earned degrees in Photography and Fine Art, the most recent from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Amsterdam. After graduation, he worked as a freelance IT Consultant and Art / Project Manager before joining Christoph on The Tree Walker project as the Executive Producer and Project Manager. His non-work interests range widely, everything from architecture to the art of Chinese tea ceremonies. He could tell you about it, but that would not be a “length-limited” conversation!
Dany Cleyet-Marrel is a pilot and inventor of Aerostats. His prototypes have been used in the worlds rain forests for scientific missions and film shootings, as for the ‘BBC Human Planet’ series, for over 30 years. Dany Cleyet-Marrel is also the co-founder of Operation Canopy’, he and his team do research on the bio diversity on the exact same part of the canopy, where Christoph Both-Asmus will balance.
